DIY Website Design -V- Outsourcing

When it comes to website design, some people are tempted to think that they can do it themselves rather than spend money on hiring a website development company. After all, Wordpress and other similar platforms are available to all and, better still, are free to use. In fact, about 27% of all websites worldwide use Wordpress, and today that includes many created by website developers.

Yes, Wordpress may be free to use, but it is HOW you use it that decides whether you finish up with a website that is good, bad, or indifferent. Obviously you want a website that is good, and that is defined ultimately by the results that it achieves, not just how pretty it looks. With a few exceptions, such as people who have nothing better to do than play around on social media all day and may also start a website so that they can tell the world how clever they are, the vast majority of us have a website because we want to use it to get results. In many instances that means turning a profit, although there are some such as charities who are not for profit - but even they want you to make a donation.

So yes, your website is all about getting results. This is why website design outsourcing is crucial in the majority of cases because the DIY route will only lead to frustration and disappointment. When you run a business you don’t have time to attend to all the myriad little things which happen. For instance, if you have an electrical fault you would automatically call in an electrician to fix it, not waste time Googling it and trying to do it yourself.
The same thing applies to website design. Sure, you can have a go yourself with Wordpress and you might even enjoy trying to do it. However, if you finish up with a website that looks pretty but still doesn’t get the results that you want, then you were wasting your time in the first place. Far better to outsource the job to a company that does understand and has the skills that you need.
